be for the First Class Corridor Coach (FK)
BR Mark 1 Coaches
Further developments are taking
place on our range of BR Mark 1 Coaches particularly with regard to bogies. The
Commonwealth Bogies have been available for some time and after considerable deliberation
as to how to make a reasonable representation of the BR1 type bogies, we decided in the
end to produce a complete kit. The kit includes digitally punched steelwork for all
the main structure with the addition of laser cut axleguards, spring hangers and brake
hangers, lost wax castings for horn blocks and leaf spring pads, and, white metal castings
for bogie pivot, saddles, coil spring pads, shock absorbers and axleboxes (with needle
roller bearings). A complete set of laser cut brake gear will also be supplied.
The above will produce a complete scale working bogie rather than trying to make
one from cast side frames with the inherent difficulties of equalising and self aligning
bearings.
BR Mark 1 BR1 Riveted Bogies
| To construct these
bogies we supply a complete set of parts. The set includes digitally punched main frame
members; CNC ready turned wheels & axles, needle roller bearings & seals, laser
cut axle guards, spring hanger brackets, brake hanger brackets, brake link hangers; lost
wax castings for horn blocks, leaf spring pads, spring hangers; Whitemetal castings for
shock absorbers, bogie pivot, coil spring pads for centre bolster, bolster saddles; leaf
spring steel and rivets. A set of laser cut brake gear is available separately. |

Commonwealth Bogie
|
The commonwealth bogie kits are
supplied with the main frames machined and welded in our jigs. These are fully
working scale bogies but are entirely suitable for riding on as they are fully sprung and
on roller bearings, they have all the mountings for the full set of working vacuum brake
gear. They can be purchased
part assembled or ready to run. |
